We all want our eyebrows to look amazing between waxing appointments.
Eyebrows that have been professionally waxed are perfectly shaped and have no stray hairs or extra long individual hairs poking out. In short, newly waxed eyebrows are the bee’s knees. But, what about between eyebrow waxings? Maintaining beautiful brows between waxings is easier said than done, but with a little know-how, anyone can do it! In Part 1 of Your Guide to Eyebrow Maintenance Between Appointments, we talked about strategically timing your waxing appointments and the dos and don’ts of tweezing between appointments. Keep reading to learn more tips and tricks for perfectly maintained eyebrows between waxing appointments.
Put down the scissors!
Trimming long hairs and stray hairs with a pair of cosmetic scissors sounds like a much easier, much safer and much less painful path than tweezing. But, trimming between waxing with cosmetic scissors almost always ends in disaster. Why? Because it’s much easier to go overboard with scissors than it is with tweezers. Trimming your eyebrows with scissors is akin to cutting your own bangs. Sure, it may seem easy enough, but it almost never ends well.
Cover up stray hairs instead of removing them.
While, yes, tweezing stray hairs is preferable to trimming them, you’re better off if you just leave them be. As we mentioned in our last blog, allowing your eyebrows to grow between regularly scheduled waxing appointments will allow the growth cycles of stray hairs to sync up, keeping your brows cleaner between appointments. But, the cycles won’t sync up if you trim or tweeze the hairs. One great way to deal with these hairs while allowing them to grow is by simply covering them up with a brow concealer pencil. The right brow concealer will leave your eyebrows looking freshly waxed, even if it’s been a couple of weeks since your appointment.
Fill in your brows for a more dramatic look.
In this day and age, it’s much easier to maintain stylish eyebrows than it has been in many years. Why? Because thick, dramatic eyebrows are in style right now! If small hairs grow in around your brow line, try embracing them instead of hiding or plucking them! Use a fill-in pencil to draw your eyebrows in slightly lower or higher than you typically do, so that you can blend in stray hairs. With this method, you’re eyebrows will be on point, and you won’t have to worry about ruining the growth cycle or going too crazy with the tweezers.
